Fall colors were amazing while I was there. Traversing a wooded corridor, this segment offers a quiet place to reflect and remember those who have served their country.The path continues through the town of East Fishkill and ends in Hopewell Junction. Note that you dont pass through local downtowns per se, I saw restrooms at the Stormville parking area and at Lake Tonetta and Hopewell Junction. We locked the bikes up by the walkway, headed into town for an incredible lunch. This is more of a stroll than a hike, which is nice because you can add it to another hike in the same day if you're in the area. Unfortunately, there are older segments that sorely need maintenance, especially the roughly 4 mile stretch from Taconic State Park south. in the town of Poughkeepsie. Phase 4, already planned, will be for a new bridge over SR 55 and will connect the phase 2 section with the southern section. Run down the stairs around the corner on Rt 6 up the hill towards Brewster Honda back up the steps and continue to dead end/turnaround by Exit 10 ramp close to Danbury border.
